Action to End Gendered Violence, 2022
Concept
‘Action to End Gendered Violence’ is a state election campaign run by the NSW Women’s Alliance, in order to prioritise the needs of those affected by domestic and family violence in the March 2023 State Election. I was the sole designer on the campaign, in charge of the creative direction, brand identity and all design related deliverables including the campaign website.

Through this campaign design I was introduced to designing in a professional context, which taught me the skills necessary to design for a client and their stakeholders. Part of this process was offering three different design concepts for the client to choose from in the initial stages, as well as keeping up with continuous deadlines, modifying designs according to the client’s needs, and working with those outside of the design industry. I ensured that the design was in accordance with the standards and good practice guidelines of the domestic and family violence charity sector, such as not using the colour red because it can trigger victim survivors of violence due to its association with blood.

This project is meaningful to me as it allowed me to contribute to a powerful cause that I am personally passionate about. I love that I was able to create work that represents marginalised groups and communicates messages that will mobilise important political and institutional change.
